To help you select the best paid app for your needs, a short blurb is providing describing when it would be useful for school. During the club meeting you will work in small groups to compare the free vs. the paid apps to see which is really the best value.
Document Creation
Google Drive (free) | Pages (paid) Pages is perfect for writing and turning in papers. The documents created can easily convert to Word (or from Word to Pages). So you could start on a mobile device and finish on a desktop computer or vice versa. |

Puppet Pals (free) | Comics Head (paid) Allows the user to tell a story using images and text. There are many options. Image if your next project could be done using cartoons to explain science, social studies, or summarize a novel. |

Flash Web Browser
Puffin (free) | Puffin Web (paid) There are many web pages that include Flash elements. iOS devices can not view Flash. The Flash browser enables you to interact with the Flash elements. However, it does take more wi-fi bandwidth. |
Screencasting (iPads only)
Educreations (free) | Explain Everything (paid) This lets you combine images, speaking, and doodles to explain topics. Explain Everything lets you re-record for each slide instead of having to start at the beginning. Finished projects can be saved to Photo Roll, exported to YouTube, or shared with friends. Ms. Butler uses this to create all her Flipped Lessons. |
